I have an Olivon T90 scope & it comes with a metal cover over the eyepiece & I have discovered that you can leave the cover screwed in place & unscrew a cap. This leaves a thread (not sure of the diameter yet). Can this be used in anyway to attach a camera...compact or DSLR? Dorset Boy.

Hello all. I'm totally new to digiscoping and haven't splashed out on any extra equipment as yet. If you can take the time to read, here's the deal:

I've used scopes for birding for years, I've used cameras for years (digital, slr's and dslr's), but never bothe combined for digiscoping.

So far, I've practised in the garden with scope/camera combinations, just to see if i think, 'yes, it's woth having a go at' or 'nah, i won't bother'. I have no adapters or brackets as yet, as I'm still not ...

I'm brand new to this game so please be tolerant.

Here's my digiscope equipment:

Scope: Celestron Ultima 80 ED 20x-60x

Camera: Nikon 40D.

I went into the field and shot 700 pics of a peregrine falcon nesting with 3 fledglings with this combo.

The pics turned out terribly vignetted - I'm not even sure this is the proper term for what I saw.

There was a circular shadow in the centre of the picture which gradually faded towards the edges.

Any suggestions as to what caused this? ...

Dear adviser,

I need some advice to choose between spotting scope models I got in sight.

There are my needs (for my first spotting scope ! ) :

-I want a spotting scope for day photography. ( dSLR )

-I don’t have a budget for ED, HD or worthy coated lenses. I prefer to try digiscoping then later invest if the thrill is still there for this kind of photography. Ultimately I expect to buy one of the Pantax scope. =)

- For me, quality of image matter over all other considerations.

I'm a complete newbie to digiscoping. Currently I have a canon a95 camera, a baader adapter which I tried using with my cheap scope but without success. I'm a keen bird watcher and I'm looking to purchase a new scope for birdwatching and digiscoping if it is compatible with my camera and adapter. I'm willing to purchase a different adapter for the scope if the one I have is unsuitable. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Apparently the Olivon standard digiscope adapter fits the Kowa 820 series via the 50mm thread originally intended for the Kowa zoom cover.

My question which I haven't seen directly answered is what is the range of eyepiece accomodation on the adapter.ie min and max eyepiece length.

I currently have the 32x wide eyepiece which should be Ok - actually on reflection I'm not sure it would get close enough but what about the long ...

Hi, I am new to birdwatching but have been interested in photography for about 35 years.

I have a very limited budget and have bought a LUYI 20-60 x 60 scope from ebay, ( I can here you all groan now). I am very pleased with the scope for viewing and think it is superb value for money. I have a Canon powershot IS2 with a 10 x optical zoom. I have tried putting the camera in front of the eyepiece and aligning it. However I find that I have to go to max zoom on the camera, even with the ...

Hello all, I have started to get interested in trying digiscoping , having got myself an Olivon T80 scope. I currently have a couple of cameras which I could use but not sure whether to use either of them or to get something specifically for this.

I have a Canon 400D DSLR but don`t really want to lock this on to the scope if I don`t have to. My other option is a Sony cybershot DSC-S80 4 meg compact which if mount on the Olivon universal mount would let me use the scope as a scope but I`m not ...

I find the digiscope website very interesting and useful, and because of the review i have opted to buy the olivon swing out arm.I have a very basic question, most adapters clamp onto the eyepiece. If you have a zoom eyepiece does this mean you cannot zoom once they are fitted? This is one of the reasons i have gone for the swing out arm type.

Olivon swing out adapter

Hello,

I am about to buy the Olivon swing out adapter (thanks for the review Rob), it looks like a nice piece of kit and a lot more realisticly priced than the others Anyone who has one can you answer this, does it have a catch to hold it back when walking with it attached or can you set some sort of pressure on the hinge to stop it moving about when the tripod is on your shoulder (mine always is)

I have only just discovered digiscoping & having visited loads of sites it appears that apparently my fuji s9500 probably isn`t a very good camera for this type of photography which leaves me with a dilema, should I spend my money (limited) on a new cheaper camera & scope or keep the camera & invest the money in trying to get the camera to give better results?, ie, a better quality scope?, incidently I do not have a scope at present cos as I have stated I have only just discovered ...
